  1. Hi Matt,

I enjoy your work. In particular, I noticed your piece in Salish Current, “Bellingham to be a two-newspaper town again . . . ”

In your research, did you run across the name of Harry W. Patton? He is my great Grandfather and was the publisher of one of the early Bellingham papers. i am trying to reconstruct his history with the Bellingham press.

In 1906, Patton bought land on Orcas, near where I live today.

    Thanks,

  4. Hello, Matt, I appreciate the excellent article about the complex issues in the Sedro-Woolley school district and especially addressing the fact this is a state-wide, national effort for the reactionary wrong to move not just down but grassroots up. One of the current board members also had a connection on his social media page in 2013 to the Family Policy Institute of WA. Of course people have the freedom of association. I think local voters, however, have become complacent about how school board and local officials are a spring board to higher office. I think telling us more about the Family Policy Institute will be an important service. Thank you! Kathy Reim retired SWSD teacher
